The Making of my Summer Isles Album #11
I have to say that getting to the performance stage of such a personal project has been one of the most rewarding aspects of doing this album. As my previous blogs have already said, I have been so invested in the Summer Isles since December 2014. Sharing the music via the CD is one thing but then sharing it in a live setting is so much more of an exchange. Before the tour I was concerned about how the Summer Isles would translate in a gig setting to audiences who had potentially never even heard of them. Tony Birch's review of The Green Note gig does reassure me that the music does travel!Touring with such talented and lovely guys made all the difference. A big thank you to Iain Hutchison, Mike Vass and Hector MacInnes who really made the music as good as it could be. I feel very honoured to have been able to bring this album to the performance stage and this is only possible thanks to people that support live music and come to gigs so thank you very much! Thank you to everyone who has read these blogs, listened to me bang on about the album, bought an album, played the music, come to a gig, downloaded a track, written encouraging reviews and generally supported me and the project. To sum up this album project all I can say is that it has been one of the best journeys of my life and the results have given me so much inspiration to keep writing and producing new music. I feel sad that this is my last ever Summer Isles blog but so excited about what the next project may be!
